Lightning 006-c.jpgOh, and power outage, LOL. So, best time to get out and shoot. The dust sure makes the sky look martian. The b/w one also looks nice.

There's still a manual for this computer, too.

Univac7.gifThe SINS (Ship's Inertial Navigation System) reformatted the raw Sperry gyroscope data for use by the computers. And there's a tape drive unit that is also still moving. And lastly a close-up of the Core memory module.

SD USS Midway 014-1.jpgCV-41, an aircraft carrier, was launched in 1945 and is now moored in San Diego as a maritime museum.

I got some nice views from the flightdeck of supercarriers at the opposite piers:

The three vessels, from the left, are: United States Naval Ship USNS Henry J. Kaiser (T-AO-187), USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70), USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76).
The CVN-70 and CVN-76 are Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarriers. (CVN: Cruiser, heaVier-than-air aircraft, Nuclear)
The last picture in the set is a view of the bow of the USS Midway.
